Grade 3 Flight Instructor Rating Course
If you are passionate for flying and love to share your passion, knowledge, and experience, then you might have what it takes to be a Flight Instructor.
Instructing is more than a skill; it is sharing the gift of flight with your students and being rewarded as they achieve their goals.
Requirements
Before you can hold an Instructor Rating, the following must be obtained:
- Commercial Pilots Licence Aeroplanes (CPL)
- Class 1 medical certificate
- Pass in the CASA Pilot Instructor Rating Common Exam (PIRC) prior to final flight test
On completion of your Flight Instructor Rating, you can work under the supervision of a Grade 1 Flight Instructor, helping with the flight training for the issue of Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) and Private Pilot’s Licence Aeroplanes (PPL) and Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).
How Long Will It Take?
Most Instructor Rating Courses run for approximately 8 weeks full-time. There is a considerable amount of theory as well as practical training, involving Principles and Methods of Instructing and Instructional briefings.
The course involves approximately 40 hours of flight training, together with all the applicable theory training to allow a trainee instructor to teach any lesson up to and including Commercial Pilots License.
